Sheriff's Blotter: Cop Calls

A compilation of reports pulled from the Lake Forest police dispatch log during the past few days.

At 10:24 a.m. Tuesday, police were called to assist a citizen on the 20500 block of Crescent Bay Drive. There was a confrontation between two co-workers at an office. The informant was upset and wanted to speak with police about pressing charges against a co-worker who reportedly pushed her out of the office.

At 9:57 a.m. Tuesday, police assisted county firefighters with a medical aid call on the 24100 block of Larkwood Lane. According to the report, a 36-year-old-woman had self-inflicted wounds on her wrists and was transported to Saddleback Hospital.

At 10:34 p.m. Monday, a caller reported a suspicious person near Ashley Lane and Newhall Lane. Reportedly, several subjects were smoking and throwing glass bottles out of a car window.

At 10:12 p.m. Monday, police arrested a 27-year-old-man on the 25400 block of Polaris Lane. According to the report, the caller's boyfriend was very agitated and punched a hole in a wall. The man was taken into custody and has since been released.

At 6:26 p.m. Monday, police were called to assist a citizen on the 24600 block of Belgreen Place. A woman found two screws in her tires. She told police she suspects the vandalism was done by a malicious person who she met on Facebook.

At 5:33 p.m. Monday, police were called to conduct a welfare check in the 25600 block of Rimgate Drive. The caller's neighbor had not been seen for several days, and the caller reported a strong smell emanating from the residence. Police discovered the subject had been dead for several days and the coroner was notified.

At 11:30 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a pair who seemed drunk in public in the 23500 block of El Toro Road. A man and a woman, both in their 20s, were reportedly stumbling around and laying down in a parking lot.

At 7:06 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a suspicious person on the 22400 block of El Toro Road. A subject wearing a "wife beater" tank was caught attempting to steal alcohol from a store. When the subject was confronted, the caller said the would-be thief took off on a bike in the direction of Stater Bros. 

At 7:20 p.m. Sunday, a caller reported a disturbance on the 32200 block of Orange Avenue. According to the report, 15 people who the caller thought might be part of a gang were seen fighting on a golf course. The caller didn't see any weapons being used.

At 10:44 p.m. Saturday, police arrested a 24-year-old-man on the 22000 block of Elsberry Way. The man had gotten into a fight with his brother and broken his nose. Police took the man into custody and he has since been released.

The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. The true nature of an incident often differs from what is initially reported. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided.
