Shooting Victim Recalled Fondly

Everyone loved Johanah Wade, colleagues tell KCBS. Her 25-year-old husband reportedly shot her Friday in their Laguna Niguel apartment, but the circumstances remain under investigation and no arrest has been made.

The 24-year-old dental assistant who was reportedly killed by a single gunshot fired early Friday by her husband was "loved by everyone," her stunned colleagues told KCBS-TV on Monday.

Johanah Wade's 25-year-old husband was questioned and released after the shooting, but remains a person of interest in the case, authorities told the station.

Jim Amormino, Orange County Sheriff's Department spokesman, told Patch Tuesday morning that the autopsy on Wade was performed over the weekend, and that investigators would turn their results over to the Orange County District Attorney's Office, which will decide whether to prosecute anyone in the case.

Meanwhile, her former co-workers remembered her as hard-working and much-loved.

"She had the best personality anyone could ever ask for,” said one of her colleagues at Serene Dental Center in Irvine.

What a tragic shame. I saw a segment on the news about this. Her co-workers really liked her. And the neighbors seemed to like both of them. Stuff happens, but accidentally shooting and killing a loved one is about as bad as it gets. I hope it all gets sorted out and the suffering left behind begins to heal. RIP.

The authorities sure are treating her former husband nicely. Not releasing his name and concealing the fact that he owns a gun shop in O.C. And I'm so glad to hear that the person who shot and killed Johanah at 1:30 AM is considered a "person of interest." Let me guess, he's claiming it was an accident. Well, I guess he must be pretty broken up, being that he's a gun shop owner, who you would think is familiar with the hazards of guns. Well, his 24 year old wife is dead now, but I guess he can always blame the gun. I'm sure he'll continue going through life boasting of his right to bear arms. Funny how it works that the gun nuts can on one hand claim that it's the person, not the gun, who is ultimately responsible. Except in this case, where it's the gun that's guilty. Supposedly.
