Orange County sheriff's deputies are responding to shots fired near an equestrian center in Jackson Ranch in Silverado; authorities have detained -- but not formally arrested -- a man and a woman in connection with the incident.

Lt. Dan Dwyer of the Orange County Sheriff's Department said two calls came in at around 11 a.m. reporting gunshots in Silverado Canyon and "bullets whizzing by."

"The whole location is on lockdown right now," Dwyer said.

About eight to 10 people were evacuated from the equestrian center and SWAT officers  set up a perimeter around a home next to the equestrian center, said Lt. Jeff Hallock said.

As of 3 p.m., investigators believed there was no longer an active shooter in the area.

According to the sheriff's department, the shots appeared to be coming from the house.

There have been no injuries reported.

A male driver was detained about a mile down Santiago Canyon Road following a collision shortly after the shooting according to the sheriff's department.

According to Hallock, the driver may have been involved in the shooting. Also detained is a woman in the house deputies intend to search, but neither had been officially arrested as of 6 p.m. Wednesday, Hallock said.

East Santiago Canyon Road is closed between Modjeska Canyon and Silverado Canyon roads. The road will likely remain closed until, at least 8 p.m. while deputies obtain a search warrant for the house where the shots appeared to originate, Hallock said.

More Details to come.
