Teens Setting Off Illegal Fireworks, and Other Cop Calls

A selection of reports from Lake Forest to the county Sheriff's Department, June 28-July 1.

Maybe they thought July 4 had arrived early this year.

A caller reported four teenage boys setting off fireworks Wednesday afternoon.

The resident, who lives near the 19000 block of Willow Brook Lane, told deputies that the explosives made a "big bang."

The call was made at about 2:03 p.m. Wednesday.

Pedestrian check. 7:57 a.m. Friday. Canada Road and Serrano Court.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 4:26 a.m. Friday. Peachwood and Palmwood.

Robbery in progress. 9:35 p.m. Thursday. Lake Forest Drive and Muirlands Boulevard. Deputies responding to a robbery in progress report arrested a 40-year-old man and placed him in custody at Orange County Jail with no bail set.

Battery. 4:34 p.m. Thursday. 24900 block of Calle Vecindad. Deputies responding to a battery report arrested a 75-year-old man and placed him in custody at Orange County Jail on $50,000 bail.

Disturbance. 12:07 p.m. Thursday. 23200 block of Orange Avenue. 

Grand-theft report. 9:21 a.m. Thursday. 24900 block of Rollingwood Road.

Traffic accident—unknown injuries. 11:04 p.m. Wednesday. Trabuco Road and El Toro Road. Deputies responding to a report of a traffic accident arrested a 59-year-old man and placed him in custody at Orange County Jail. He was released when he posted bail. 

Traffic stop. 10:51 p.m. Wednesday. Bake Parkway and Rancho Parkway. A 33-year-old man was arrested during a traffic stop and placed in custody at Orange County Jail, where he was cited and released.

Disturbance—music or party. 3:40 p.m. Wednesday. Market Place and Portola Parkway. Deputies responding to a disturbance call arrested a 22-year-old man and placed him in custody at Central Men’s Jail on $20,000 bail.

Warrant arrest. 12:01 p.m. Wednesday. 25300 block of 2nd Street.  A 29-year-old man was arrested for an outstanding warrant and was placed into custody at Central Men’s Jail with no bail set. 

Disturbance. 3:36 a.m. Wednesday. 20700 block of El Toro Road.  Deputies responding to a disturbance call arrested a 25-year-old woman and placed her in custody at the Musick jail. She was released when the district attorney refused to prosecute.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 3:21 a.m. Wednesday. Portola Parkway and Bake Parkway. Deputies responding to a suspicious person report arrested an 18-year-old man and placed him in custody at Central Men’s Jail, where he was released for time served.

Disturbance. 11:22 p.m. Tuesday. 23100 block of Los Alisos Boulevard.

Suspicious vehicle. 8:40 p.m. Tuesday. Aspan Street and Centre Drive.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 4:33 p.m. Tuesday. Bake Parkway and Lake Forest Drive.
