Was Your Child a Victim of This Alleged Sex Offender?

Orange County District Attorney wonders if the Disneyland worker had other victims besides his own female relative.

The Orange County District Attorney's office has charged Bryan William Anast with several felony counts of sexual assault on a child, but they fear the 45-year-old from Corona may have assaulted multiple victims.

The D.A.'s office is seeking the public’s help in identifying other potential victims of Anast, who has been charged with sexually assaulting a female relative over a three-year span.

Anast is specifically charged with four felony counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child, one felony count of possession and control of child pornography, and a sentencing enhancement allegation for forcible sex crimes.

He faces a maximum sentence of 63 years to life in state prison and mandatory lifetime sex offender registration if he is convicted on all counts. He is being held on $1 million bail. He pled not guilty on Monday during his arraignment in Westminster. His next day in court will be July 2 for a pre-trial hearing.

City News Service reported Disneyland officials said Anast had no contact with visitors at the theme park.

Over a three-year span, between Nov. 2, 1997, and Nov. 1, 2000, Anast is accused of sexually assaulting his 11-year-old female relative Jane Doe by forcibly digitally penetrating the victim on at least four different occasions in three different locations: Yosemite, Garden Grove and Stanton.

More than 12 years after the last alleged assault, in May, Jane Doe contacted the Orange County Sheriff’s Department to report the incidents. Anast was arrested at Disneyland, where he worked as a machinist fixing rides.

An investigation at Anast’s home on June 20 turned up  several videos of child pornography on a computer data storage device that belonged to Anast, according to investigators.

The OCDA says the investigation is ongoing; anyone with additional information or who believes they have been a victim is encouraged to contact Supervising District Attorney Investigator Paul Carvo at 714-347-8794.

Deputy District Attorney Bobby Taghavi of the Sexual Assault Unit is prosecuting this case.
