Forget Waldo. Where's Nectar?

Residents can win prizes guessing the location of Nectar, Lake Forest's hummingbird mascot, using clues that will be posted on Twitter and Facebook.

How well do you know Lake Forest?

Residents can test their hometown knowledge this summer with "Navigate to Nectar," a 10-week online treasure hunt.

Run by Lake Forest's Community Services Department, the contest will send Nectar to a different hiding spot each week, starting June 2.

Hints will show up on Twitter and Facebook. The first player to post the correct location of the big bird will win that week's "Navigate to Nectar" prize.

The hummingbird mascot will be visiting different Lake Forest locales, such as parks and businesses.

Residents who figure out Nectar's whereabouts each week can fill out a form to be entered into a drawing for a grand prize at Movies in the Park in El Toro Park on Aug. 26

Here's where to find clues:

  • Twitter: check @Navigate2Nectar every Thursday
  • Facebook: visit the Lake Forest special events page, www.facebook.com/LakeForestEvents, for photographic clues

The competition begins June 2 and concludes Aug. 26.
