Herzog 'Disappointed' About the New Lay of the Land (Among Other Things)

Councilman Peter Herzog offers his comments about the Planning Commission and his colleagues in closing remarks from the Tuesday meeting.

By Martin Henderson

Peter Herzog has suddenly decided to join Fight Club. The longtime city councilman isn't pulling any punches these days when it comes to his colleagues on the Lake Forest City Council who have rezoned the Foothill Auto Centre, provided special dispensation for developers, and appointed a new planning commissioner with a fairly light set of credentials compared to other candidates.

Given the opportunity at the close of the council meeting on Tuesday, Herzog took the opportunity to offer his vision of the new landscape. At one point he refers to a petition that now has more than 1,000 signatures of protest.
