City Council to Meet New Finance Director, Discuss Amending Protocol

The Lake Forest City Council plans to discuss the city's lawsuits against local medical marijuana dispensaries, meet the city's new finance director and possibly change its meeting protocols at its Tuesday meeting.

During what's likely to be a shorter-than-usual meeting Tuesday night, the Lake Forest City Council will officially meet the city's new finance director.

, who until recently ran the finances for the city of La Palma, took over Monday in Lake Forest from , the city's interim director. 

Also at the meeting, the council is scheduled to discuss the rules, established in 2001, that govern its meetings.

Specifically, the council is considering amending the section of its protocols that give each council member five minutes to talk about non-agenda items.

According to the staff report, the topic was placed on Tuesday's agenda by request of the council.

Also Tuesday night, during closed session—which takes place prior to the 7 p.m. meeting and is not open to the public—the council will meet with its legal counsel to talk about four lawsuits the city is fighting against local medical marijuana collectives.

The city recently received word that to assist in its out of town.
