Lake Forest Community Leaders Honored at City Hall Breakfast with Supervisor Pat Bates

Community volunteers and city staff sat down together Friday morning.

Lake Forest community members—volunteers, business owners, city staffers, elected officials and well-known residents—gathered at City Hall Friday morning for the city's Leadership Breakfast, which honored those assembled and saw speeches given by Orange County Supervisor Patricia Bates and Mayor Peter Herzog.

In a variation of Bates' State of the City talk, the South County supervisor spoke about transportation improvements brought by the Measure M2 sales tax, the effort to restore Serrano Creek from erosion damage, the economy, and a

"Among all the county’s recent successes, I’m most proud that we have consistently passed responsible, conservative, balanced budgets," Bates had planned to say, according to a draft of her speech provided by her office. "Over the past few years, your Board of Supervisors has steered the County through one of the most concentrated efforts to scale back expenditures in our history."
