Lake Forest Loses Management Member to Laguna

Lake Forest's assistant to the city manager is leaving Lake Forest to work for the city of Laguna Beach, where he lives.

After nine years working in Lake Forest's city government, Ben Siegel is moving on to hold a similar post in Laguna Beach, his city of residence.

His new position was announced at the beginning of a short City Council meeting Tuesday evening at .

City Manager Robert Dunek professed himself both "proud" and "somewhat sad" that Siegel is leaving Lake Forest for a new position.

Siegel started out as a management analyst in the Public Works Department, worked for a time with Police Services but spent the majority of his tenure in Lake Forest serving as the assistant to the city manager.

In Laguna Beach, Siegel will serve as both the assistant to the city manager and the director of the Laguna Beach Community Services Department.

"It's really been a wonderful opportunity to serve this community," Siegel said Tuesday evening. “I feel very fortunate to have started my career here and built a great foundation.”

His last day with Lake Forest is March 15.
