Send comments to the Lake Forest Planning Department by 5 p.m.

The month-long public commenting period on the preliminary analysis of a 930-house proposed Portola Hills development ends at 5 p.m. Monday.

Baldwin and Sons, a developer that built homes in Portola Hills, has applied to erect the new project.

Portola Center is one of five new neighborhoods slated for land once barred to residential development because of its proximity to the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station flight path.

Under its current iteration, the Portola Hills proposal would include as many as 930 homes, a 5-acre sports park, various neighborhood parks, a small mixed-use site including up to 10,000 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and upper-story residential units.

The 243-acre project site is at the intersection of Glenn Ranch and Saddleback Ranch roads.
