Let Them Eat Cookies

Lake Forest City Council will provide attendees with cookies, coffee and water at future meetings.

Cookies and hot coffee will be provided at City Council meetings from now on— and cranked-up air conditioning may be to thank.

A clearly chilled requested this week at the council's Tuesday evening meeting that hot coffee, cookies and water be present for attendees at the council's twice-monthly meetings.

She said the estimated annual cost—$780, by her reckoning—amounts to mere "pennies" in the city's budget.

Without discussing the matter, her colleagues agreed to the proposal, presented informally at the tail end of Tuesday's meeting.
