Lake Forest's 50-plus hangout, the Senior Scene Clubhouse, is again extending its hours this summer on days of extreme heat, as it began doing in 2008.

The center is open Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. but is now prepared to remain open through 4 p.m. when the temperature goes higher than 90 degrees, according to city staffers.

For seniors at Senior Scene Clubhouse, the city is now offering a limited number of farmers market vouchers to be used for fruit and vegetables.
