PHOTOS: 1,000+ Turn Out For Taste of Lake Forest

More than 220 local businesses are offering deals and discounts during Shop and Dine Lake Forest Week.

More than 1,000 people swarmed the Foothill Ranch food court at Bake and Towne Centre on Sunday afternoon for the first-ever Taste of Lake Forest, organizers said.

The Hawaiian-themed food sampling event, a kick-off to Shop and Dine Week, included entertainment by hula dancers with  and a karate performance by students from .

On Sunday, 20 restaurants brought offerings for attendees to try. Food samplers voted for their favorite restaurant.

More than 220 businesses are offering deals and discounts this week as part of Shop and Dine Week. Brochures with all the deals were recently mailed to Lake Forest households. Booklets are also available at , 25550 Commercentre Dr.

For each deal claimed, participants should get their booklet stamped for a chance to win prizes at the wrap-up Shop and Dine celebration on Sunday in the Orchard shopping center on El Toro Road and Rockfield Boulevard.

Each stamp earns an additional raffle ticket for prizes, including a 40” Panasonic LED TV, a $250 Southwest Airlines gift card, $100 Fresh & Easy gift cards and Oakley eyewear. 

Entertainment at the event will include Playlist 92.7 FM and former American Idol contestant Didi Benami.
