Preview of Tuesday Night Council Meeting

Lake Forest's governing body meets for its second regularly scheduled July meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Few items on the agenda are likely to spur discussion among officials at the Tuesday evening meeting of the Lake Forest council.

The majority of the agenda—10 items—is on the consent calendar portion of the agenda, which is generally voted on in one fell swoop. Among them:

  • A quarterly record of attendance for commissioners appointed to the council's two advisory bodies
  • A consultant agreement for $37,480 to conduct a survey of its residents and businesses
  • A $163,000 bump to an agreement for bus shelter and bus bench maintenance services, raising the total to $487,080
  • A $8,200 salary increase for City Manager Bob Dunek to $240,656

On Tuesday's agenda for discussion is the method of rotation used in the selection of the city's mayor. Each year one of the council members is selected by his or her peers to lead the city for a calendar year.
