Rep. John Campbell Offers Congressional Internships

Both part-time and full-time internships are available in Washington and the local office in Irvine. Internships are unpaid positions.

Rep. John Campbell has internship openings in both his Washington and local offices for students who wish to learn more about Congress and the legislative process.

During the academic year, internships generally cover the student's semester, from September to December or January to May. During the summer months, internships generally vary in length.

Duties in the Washington office include attending legislative hearings and community meetings, participating in regular office meetings, conducting legislative research, giving tours of the Capitol Building to visiting 45th District residents, and responding to constituent inquiries and phone calls.

The deadline for applying for spring internships is Dec. 6. Interested students should complete an internship application and email or mail it along with a cover letter, writing sample, formal resume, and letters of recommendation to Intern Coordinator Carolyn Noble. Call 202-225-5611 for more information.

Duties in local-office internships include responding to constituent inquiries and phone calls, participating in regular office meetings, conducting legislative research, completing a policy project, and attending district events and community meetings.
