A Sunday food sampling event will kick off the city's Shop and Dine Week, a partnership with more than 220 local businesses offering discounts on goods and services.
From noon to 3 p.m. Sunday in the Foothill Ranch food court at Bake Parkway and Towne Centre Drive, attendees can try food from more then 20 local restaurants for $5.
Tasting takes place from noon to 2 p.m. Tasters can vote for their favorite restaurant.
Entertainment at the Hawaiian-themed event will include live music. Former American Idol contestant Ace Young is scheduled to make an appearance, as are hula dancers and a Caribbean steel drum band.
Prizes for a raffle at the event include a 40” Vizio TV, Oakley eyewear, Kindle Fire, hotel stays, restaurant giftcards and a 1-year membership to 24 Hour Fitness. Everyone who attends the event will receive a raffle ticket.
