Sea Country Towing Relocating 18-Truck Operation to Lake Forest

The Lake Forest Planning Commission awards the Laguna Hills company a permit to relocate to near Comtrans on Prism Place.

Sea Country Towing will relocate its operation from Laguna Hills to the former site of a former food processing plant on Prism Place in Lake Forest.

On Thursday night, the Planning Commission approved the company's application for a permit to operate in a 14,307-square-foot building at 20611 Prism Place, next to transportation company Comtrans.

The towing company will use the site—which it's currently in the process of buying—to house its towing operations, as well as for minor repairs for the 10 tow trucks and eight pickup trucks that make up its fleet.

About 80 percent of Sea Country Towing's business is providing roadside assistance and towing vehicles to auto repair businesses or residences, according to Lake Forest city staffers. The remaining 20 percent is devoted to towing vehicles for the Orange County Sheriff's Department and California Highway Patrol.

According to city staffers, the company will have about three office employees at the site during regular business hours and 20 workers providing roadside assistance and towing services throughout the week.
