Some Shop and Dine Deals Continue

Although many businesses limited their deals to the span of Shop and Dine Lake Forest Week, from Aug. 7 to Aug. 14, others are running extended discounts.

Deals at four pet services businesses in town—Animal Amour, Lake Forest Animal Clinic, Our Pet’s Vet and Pam’s Pet Sitting—are all still in effect, with some available to customers through December; the deal at Boneheads Restaurant—a free appetizer with purchase of entrée—continues through Aug. 31.

At the wrap-up event Sunday at the Orchard shopping center for the week of promotions, businesses gave away raffle prizes to a crowd of shoppers.

With more than 600 people in attendance, local businesses said that it was their "busiest Sunday," according to Jessica Gonzales, economic development specialist with the city.

At the event, the following prizes were distributed:

• Restaurant gift cards from Avila’s El Ranchito, Corner Bakery, Lucille’s, Efren’s Bakery, La Cocina de Ricardo and more.
• : Two 90-day passes.
• : Two two-month passes.
• Ilona be Dezign: Beauty products package.
• Trident Surfboards: Two skimboards.
• : Gift cards.
• Jon Paulo Hair Salon: More than 100 $20 gift cards.
• Boneheads Restaurant: $500 in gift cards
• Lake Forest Dental: Free teeth-whitening.
• Hair Associates: Beauty Products, massage, and facial gift basket.
• : Apple iPad 2.
• : 50-inch plasma TV.

A family that recently relocated to Lake Forest from Kentucky won the day's grand prize, the plasma TV, Gonzales said.
