Tony Blair Tickets Given to Saddleback Attendees

The former prime minister of the United Kingdom will speak on stage with Rick Warren at the Lake Forest church.

announced the details of former U.K. Prime Minister today, revealing that all the free tickets to the event have already been distributed to Saddleback attendees.

No additional general admission tickets to the talk will be available, according to a statement by the church. A live satellite feed will be broadcast online, and the church will have overflow venues on its campus to view the talk by video. The event will begin at 6 p.m. in the church's main auditorium.

Blair will be visiting Saddleback to take part in the church's occasional Civil Forum, which previously played host to  and then-presidential contenders Barack Obama and John McCain in 2008.

He is expected to speak about the Middle East and "its impact not only on the region but in the wider world," according to the release.

Pastor Rick Warren and Blair will also discuss efforts to fight the five worldwide problems that the pastor has identified in his PEACE Plan, which seeks to "Promote reconciliation, Equip servant leaders, Assist the poor, Care for the sick and Educate the next generation."

“I am delighted to be welcomed by Pastor Rick Warren and Saddleback Church,” Blair said in the statement. “I look forward to speaking with Rick on some of the profoundly significant issues and challenges that face us today in a globalized world.”

Blair, 57, served as head of state for the United Kingdom from May 1997 to June 2007, representing the Labour Party. His time in office saw the completion of the Northern Ireland peace process and strong British support for the U.S.-led 2003 invasion of Iraq. Since 2007, he has represented the U.S., United Nations, European Union and Russia as the official envoy for the Middle East peace process.
