Towing Company Looking to Relocate to Lake Forest

The Planning Commission will discuss on Thursday the business' move.

A Laguna Hills towing company has plans to relocate to a building on Prism Place in Lake Forest.

According to city officials, Sea Country Towing is in the process of purchasing a 14,307-square-foot industrial facility at 20611 Prism Place.

The company wants the site, previously used for food processing, for its towing operations, as well as for minor repairs for the 10 tow trucks and eight pickup trucks that make up its fleet.

On Thursday, the Planning Commission will consider granting the towing company a permit to operate its facility at that location, adjacent to transportation company Comtrans.

Providing roadside assistance and towing vehicles to auto repair businesses or residences make up approximately 80 percent of Sea Country Towing's business, according to the staff report. Towing vehicles for two law enforcement agencies, the Orange County Sheriff's Department and California Highway Patrol, makes up the other 20 percent.

According to the staff report, the company will have about three office employees at the site during regular business hours and 20 employees providing roadside assistance and towing services throughout the week.

The Planning Commission meeting begins 7 p.m. Thursday at Lake Forest City Hall, 25550 Commercentre Drive.
