What You Missed from Meeting Mania

We're recovering from the City Council meeting that scraped four hours in length.

Other cities are used to this, but Lake Forest isn't: Last night's City Council meeting was long. Our —"In God We Trust"—but here's a rundown of what else happened. More detailed stories will follow on a few.

  1. The redevelopment agency announced that the city may soon acquire land parcel APN No. 617-091-25. Don't ask us where it is just yet.
  2. The council said "yes" to resurfacing and landscaping portions of Trabuco Road, but "we'll see" to a proposed new traffic signal at Via Del Rio and Trabuco.
  3. Three incumbent planning commissioners were reappointed, after a total of four people, including incumbents, applied for three spots.
  4. The council discussed Gov. Jerry Brown's state budget, and it wasn't pretty. The term "financial suicide" came up.
  5. An OCTA plan to synchronize traffic lights on El Toro Road from the canyons to the coast was met by deep skepticism by council members, who punted the matter for a month so as to gather more information.
