Supporters of Portola Hills Elementary School will gather Thursday evening for "Adventure Under the Stars," an adults-only fundraiser at Silverado event venue Rancho Las Lomas featuring a silent auction, live music and optional zoo tour.
Money raised at the "Under the Stars" event, organized by the Portola Hills Elementary Parent Teacher Association, will benefit the school's library, arts and technology programs, according to organizers.
Community businesses, such as Farrell's Ice Cream, JP's Surf Camp, The Cupcake Store, Laser Quest, , have gifted good and services to the silent auction. Among the bigger items donated for auction are a Nirve bicycle, Toshiba laptop, and private dirt bike lesson, according to organizers.
Before the event officially kicks off at 6:30 p.m., attendees can participate in a 5:30 p.m. tour of the venue's zoological gardens for a donation of $3 to the school.
Pianist John Otott will play live during the auction. Otott said he will donate all proceeds from sales of his CDs at the event to Portola Hills Elementary.
Tickets at the door cost $40 per couple or $25 per individual. The price includes valet parking, entertainment and appetizers by the Foothill Ranch .
The fundraiser at 19191 Lawrence Canyon in Silverado, open to the 21-and-over crowd, is scheduled to wrap up by 9:30 p.m.
