Winter Fitness Classes Starting Soon

Yoga and tennis are among the offerings in Lake Forest this quarter.

Looking for athletic pursuits to keep active and healthy? Check out a selection of the city's offerings for adults, families and children. Below are some that the Lake Forest Community Services Department is currently highlighting. Deadlines are coming up to get into the classes.

 

What: Zumba Gold Toning

Who: 18+

Description: Zumba Gold is a brand new class that will be offered beginning April 2. This program combines the international rhythms of Zumba Gold with the strength-training techniques of a comprehensive toning program. As a result of this class, students will increase muscle strength and definition, while improving their mobility and heart health. Classes consist of 5-week sessions at a fee of $25 for residents and $30 for non-residents. For more info, call Community Services at 461-3450.

What: Yoga Booty Ballet

Who: 18+

Description: This is a dance party! This fun workout allows students 18 and older to burn over 400 calories per class. Students learn basic cardio dance movements, tone their entire body with ballet, and then strengthen with a cool-down of relaxing yoga. The next Yoga Booty 6-week session will begin on January 23. What: TriFytt Sports

Who: 18 months to 4 years of age (with parents)

Description: TriFytt Sports classes are a great way to bond with your 18 month to 4 year old child. TriFytt offers the perfect opportunity for you and your little one to spend some quality time together and have fun exercising all the while! Soccer will begin on January 19 and Multi-Sport on January 21. Fees are $59 per parent/child couple for residents, and $64 per parent/child couple for non-residents. What: Tennis For Everyone

Who: 16+

Description: Make this the year for learning or brushing up on your tennis! In this class, you will have the opportunity for match play and will practice super-helpful drills to strengthen your technique. Beginning and intermediate level classes are available to students 16 years and older, starting this Saturday, January 14. These classes consist of 8-week sessions and cost $95 for residents; $100 for non-residents. For more info, please see page 29 in the Winter Leisure Times or call Community Services at 461-3450.
