Martin Henderson's vote from Patch.com:

1. Mater Dei (1-0) – Reached last year’s final and have seven back on both sides of the ball. Last week: Beat Upland, 44-13. Next: Thursday vs. Santa Fe Springs St. Paul at Santa Ana Stadium.

2. Mission Viejo (1-0) – May have the best offense in the county, but historically, their struggles against Trinity League opponents make them No. 2 to Mater Dei. Last week: Beat Baldwin (HI), 49-20. Next: Friday vs. Corona Santiago.

3. Santa Margarita (0-1) – Take away the five interceptions by the sophomore quarterback and the Eagles beat Bishop Amat. Last week: Lost to Bishop Amat, 38-28. Next: Friday vs. Las Vegas Bishop Gorman at Saddleback College.

4. Edison (1-0) – The defending section champion dials in on league and playoffs, not nonleague games. Last week: Beat Compton Centennial, 27-18. Next: Thursday vs. L.A. Garfield at Huntington Beach.

5. La Habra (1-0) – Showed potential in opener against El Toro, led by shifty QB Eric Barriere. Last week: Beat El Toro, 26-3. Next: Friday at La Mirada.

6. Servite (0-1) – A tough schedule masks how good the Friars really are. Last week: Lost to Las Vegas Bishop Gorman, 41-17. Next: Friday vs. Long Beach Poly at Cerritos College.

7. JSerra (1-0) – The Lions, who had victories last season over Huntington Beach, Trabuco Hills and Orange Lutheran, should have their best team ever. Last week: Beat Las Vegas Centennial, 44-0. Next: Idle.

8. Trabuco Hills (1-0) – Mustangs are expected to have a good year but have to prove they can win the big games. Last week: Beat Dana Hills, 31-10. Next: Friday vs. Newport Harbor.

9. Tesoro (1-0) – Titans looked outstanding in their first game under Matt Poston. Last week: Beat La Mirada, 44-13. Next: Friday vs. Moreno Valley Rancho Verde.

10. Huntington Beach (1-0) – The Oilers have experience and talent on both sides of the ball. Last week: Beat Bakersfield Christian, 32-10. Next: Friday vs. Magnolia at Western.
