KISS Launches OC Arena Football Team
An Arena Football League expansion team owned by rock stars Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and others will open its season at the Honda Center in March.

An Arena Football League expansion team will begin play at Anaheim's Honda Center in March, owned by members of the rock band KISS and named the LA KISS, the league announced today.
"What we want to see happen is to take the excitement that is AFL football and bring entertainment to it too," Paul Stanley, the group's guitarist, said a news conference in Orlando, Fla., site of the league's championship game, ArenaBowl XXVI.

"We want to turn this into what football once was. It's become a little... corporate. Tickets are outrageously priced. It's not family entertainment any more. It's not something you can afford."
A limited number of season tickets for the nine-game home schedule priced at $99 went on sale today. All inaugural season ticket holders will be invited to a free KISS concert to be held at Honda Center in 2014.

In addition to the band members -- Stanley, Gene Simmons, Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer -- the partnership owning the team also consists of its manager, Doc McGhee, and Brent Bouchy, who had been a member of the front office of the AFL's Orlando Predators for 17 years before resigning as managing partner last month. Bouchy will be the managing partner of the LA KISS.
