Diary of a Charger: What's That Perfume You're Wearing? Eau de Chlorine?

El Toro's Emily Browning shares her diary for the week of Feb. 4.

Hello again!

It was very fun watching my oldest sister Jessica play in her water polo tournament last weekend at Santa Barbara. She did an amazing job while playing and made plenty of goals in each of her games. Seeing her play for her college team [Cal State Bakersfield] makes me want to be recruited for one also. In between some of her games, me and my sister Nicole explored the campus of UCSB and it was beautiful! I absolutely loved it there and would love going to college there!

This has been a pretty busy week with having the beginning of a new semester. Grades from last semester have just been posted and I am happy to see that I received a 3.6 GPA! Including all of the class changes, and having practice at 5 in the morning, I also had a game Tuesday against Laguna Hills, which we won. It has been hard to focus this week in school and sports because Saturday is Winter Formal. Our high school team is entered in a tournament right now and we also have games Saturday. This should be a good tournament for us because it will give us a good chance to compete with other teams that we could potentially end up playing in CIF. I am hoping to end early so I can rush home to get ready for the dance!

I`m really looking forward to the dance! I asked my friend Bryan to go with me by sending him on a Harry Potter scavenger hunt, which was funny to watch him run around in a park while riding a broom. For my Winter Formal dress I am borrowing a gorgeous dress from a girl on my club team. Borrowing dresses and shoes for dances are always a good idea because you are most likely to only wear the dress once.

So for Saturday my team and I are going to do our best in our games, finish up the tournament on a good note, and head off to the dance. I just hope my date likes the smell of chlorine!

Thanks for reading,

Emily
