PHOTOS: Singers Entertain Thousands at Pittsford Park

An Orange County native and an American Idol finalist from Nashville perform at Pittsford Park in Lake Forest as a part of the city's summer concert series.

Nearly 2,500 people stopped by  on Sunday to watch local singer Kina Grannis and American Idol finalist Melinda Doolittle perform as a part of Lake Forest's summer concert series.

Grannis, a pop musician, performed for the fourth time in Lake Forest on Sunday.

"[Grannis] is a really good singer," said Karen Cheung, 24, of Chino Hills. "She's talented [and] she's relatable."

After Grannis' performance, fans lined up to greet the singer. She signed autographs and took photos with her supporters, like Cheung.

Cheung said that she specifically attended the concert to watch Grannis perform.

Doolittle, a sixth-season Idol finalist, performed a range of songs. Some were her own; others, tunes by pop stars including Justin Bieber and Carly Rae Jepsen.

Her performance inspired some concertgoers to dance in front of the stage as she sang.

A Long Beach resident, 19-year-old Krysta Fryer, said she appreciated the atmosphere at the concert as well as the music.

"It's a nice neighborhood," Fryer said of the area surrounding Pittsford. "It's very relaxed."

Lake Forest newcomer Michelle Thomas, 43, recalled attending a summer concert in town before moving to the area.

"I love the [Lake Forest] community," she said during the concert. "I think it's really beautiful here."

Thomas said she plans to attend other concerts held in town this summer as well.

As Grannis and Doolittle performed, families took breaks from watching the musicians to do arts and crafts and sample ice cream and snacks.
