Reduce Power, Save Money Friday

Southern California Edison customers can get a discount on their bill by turning off the lights.

Reducing energy use from 2 to 6 p.m. Friday can earn Southern California Edison customers money off their electricity bill.

It's one of the utility's Save Power Days, which it holds up to 12 times yearly.

The program compares energy use during the four-hour stretch to the household's average usage during the same time on its three highest usage weekdays of the most recent five (excluding holidays or other Save Power Days).

If average electricity usage during the Save Power Day is lower, the customer earns a bill credit of 75 cents per kilowatt reduced.
