Breast Cancer Charity Gets Valentine's Jewelry Proceeds

A local jewelry store donated $1,200 to Breast Cancer Solutions, a Lake Forest nonprofit.

Orange County breast cancer patients are getting a belated Valentine's Day present from a local jewelry store that has donated a portion of its holiday sales to a nonprofit that supports them.

A percentage of sales from the week leading up to Valentine's Day at the  was recently gifted to Breast Cancer Solutions in support of its efforts to assist patients undergoing treatment.

Sales netted a total of $1,200 for the charity.

Heather Gilbert, founder of BSC, visited the store this weekend and accepted a check for that amount from the store's co-owners, Christine Anzell and Jack Levenson.

"The amount of money we earned in that one week will pay rent for two breast cancer patients for at least a month," Gilbert said. "Every one of those events is a godsend to us."

The store owners said that they want to thank the customers that made the donation possible.

"We are so happy to help this amazing local charity and look forward to future fundraisers benefiting the Orange County community," they said.
