Laura's House Annual Back-to-School Drive Underway

A local charity that helps families affected by domestic violence is looking for donations of school supplies.

With about a month left before the school year begins again, a local charity is collecting school supplies for families in need.

Throughout August, , which supports domestic violence victims, is gathering educational supplies, backpacks and gift cards for the families it serves.

The collection drive, which runs through Aug. 31, is the nonprofit's third annual.

One of two drop-off points in Lake Forest is Laura's House Resale Store, a thrift store on El Toro Road run by the nonprofit in support of its shelter and counseling programs.

Drop donations off at the Resale Store in Suite F, 23635 El Toro Rd., from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

The other drop-off spot in Lake Forest is at the children's play gym , 26242 Dimension Dr., #100. Drop off donations from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday through Sunday.
