Registration Opens For South County Outreach Adopt-A-Family

The Lake Forest-based nonprofit is matching sponsors with families in need of a holiday meal.

South County Outreach is seeking families, businesses, congregations and other organizations interested in "adopting" needy families this holiday season.

For more than 11 years, South County Outreach has matched about 400 families each year to community sponsors during the holidays.

Sponsors take care of an "adopted" family by providing items for a Thanksgiving meal that a family can prepare in their home and/or a December holiday meal that a family can prepare in their home and gifts for children.

To register for the Adopt-a-Family program, complete the Adopt-a-Family Form on the South County Outreach website.

Once the online application is complete, SCO will match the applicant with a family in need. Adopt-a-Family participants will get a family’s information, who they should use to contact the family and set up a time to meet and deliver the food and gifts.
