Youth Volunteers Baking, Washing and Making Lemonade for Charity in Lake Forest

At least three fundraisers run by young volunteers are taking place in town this weekend.

Some teens are spending their last days before school lounging around; others are devoting their time to charitable pursuits.

This weekend, at least three youth volunteer groups kick off the upcoming school year with fundraisers in Lake Forest.

The Let it Be Foundation's Foothill Ranch youth leadership team is hosting its first fundraiser of the season: the "Kids 4 Kids" lemonade stands support children diagnosed with life-threatening medical conditions.

Two are in Foothill Ranch, at the Ralphs and CVS on Portola Parkway. Two more stands are in Mission Viejo, at the Sprouts and CVS on Santa Margarita Parkway.

Groups from the Trabuco and El Toro high school Key Clubs—the teen equivalent of a Kiwanis Club—are also holding weekend fundraisers.

The Trabuco High Key Club is washing cars at El Toro High School today until 1:30 p.m. to raise money for the Kiwanis Pediatric Trauma Program.

The foundation partners with hospitals to fund projects to help reduce the number of children killed or injured by trauma.

On Sunday, the Key Club from El Toro High is holding a bake sale outside Ralphs at 26751 Portola Parkway in Foothill Ranch.

The club, which is raising money to attend an upcoming district conference, will be selling homemade baked goods from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
