• Monday is designated by the United Nations as International Holocaust Remembrance Day. It is the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp in 1945 and honors the victims of the Nazi era.

• Thinking of sending your child to preschool? The Foothill Ranch Library is site of an information night on Monday, 5:30 p.m. Click here for details.

• There is no shortage of baseball talent in the area, and the Lake Forest Little League sponsorship drive is under way. 

• Speaking of baseball, the El Toro High Alumni Game will be played Saturday. Click here for more details

• Attention husbands, boyfriends and significant others: Valentine’s Day is just three weeks away. Now is a good time to think about gifts and make restaurant reservations. Don’t say you weren’t told!

• Orange County can be a very predictable place, but the Segerstrom Center for the Arts has an antidote in the annual Off-Center Festival. There’s a still a week left to sample innovative entertainment, DJs and food trucks.

• If you're looking for musical entertainment in South O.C., this week The Coach House features Eagles tribute band Desperado ($15) on Friday, Dokken ($30) on Saturday, and on Feb. 4 the O.C. Music Awards.
