Irvine's Global Village Festival Promises Over 100 Performances, 50 Food Choices

The event begins at 10 a.m. Saturday and continues through 6 p.m. Admission is free. Satellite parking with shuttle-bus service is available.

Irvine's largest and best attended community event marks it's 12th year Saturday with over 100 performances and 50 food choices at Bill Barber Park.

The 12th annual Global Village Festival includes international cuisine; unique gifts, crafts and textiles; cultural displays and demonstrations; a fanciful kids village; and a world religions area.

The event begins at 10 a.m. Saturday and continues through 6 p.m. Admission is free.

More than 50 local restaurants and food trucks will serve up traditional and international specialties ranging from Chinese Dim Sum, Korean Mexican Fusion tacos and German pretzels, to Japanese dumplings, Chinese pastries, Persian kabobs and the all-American hot dog.

Food tasting tickets are $1 each, with prices ranging from 1 to 3 tickets per item. Cash, checks, MasterCard, Visa, American Express and Discover are accepted at designated ticket-booth locations.

The marketplace features local, regional and international vendors offering unique gifts, crafts, artwork and textiles representative of Irvine’s cultural community and beyond. 

A kid's village will offer special music and dance performances, an inflatable play area, crafting, games and sports activities, plus “kid-friendly” food

Thee is no parking at the event, but free shuttle buses will be in service to transport guests to and from satellite parking at Main and Jamboree and Woodbridge Community Park. Shuttles will run from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Saturday.
