Metrolink Plans Special Train to Capistrano's Winter Wonderland

Riders arriving for the 9:46 a.m. train Saturday at Tustin will be welcomed by carolers, free refreshments and free Metrolink tickets to the first 50 people.

Special Metrolink train service on Saturday will carry visitors to the Winter Wonderland in San Juan Capistrano.

A kick-off event will be held at the Tustin Metrolink Station, 2975 Edinger Avenue, at 9 a.m. Saturday.    

Riders will be welcomed by carolers, free refreshments and free Metrolink tickets for the first 50 people. Those who bring a non-perishable food item for Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County will be given the opportunity to spin the wheel for prizes.

In San Juan Capistrano, Historic Town Center Park will be transformed into a winter wonderland as volunteers create a small mountain of snow for kids to sled on between 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Musical performances, interactive games, crafts, ugly sweater contests, an arts and crafts fair, prizes and an appearance by Santa at Los Rios Plaza are all in store for the day.

The train to Capistrano leaves Tustin at 9:46 a.m. and returns at 1:52 p.m., 3:23 p.m., 5:03 p.m. or 6:46 p.m.
