If they truly want to make a difference in water usage they would target the city and stateRead More governments who continue to approve new high density residential building. Every time they approve another new development project they are adding to the drain on water. And, fracking needs to stop. Forcing millions of gallons of water and chemicals under pressure into wells in California is a dangerous travesty. Not only does the process of fracking use water, it contaminates the ground water. Yes there is a drought but it is our city and state government who can make a difference, but they continue to build new housing and frack wells to encourage oil production. It is all about money.

Walking in the Anointing of God (as a Christian) is a two sided coin that moves that anointing in,Read More through and with us. One side is to do good for others, but the other side is to stand against evil. The first side the Church does to a great degree but fighting evil is done first by defining what is evil. The sex offender registry is a perfect example. It is a Living Death it is Evil and it is Wrong. Why? because there is no redemption from that evil thing. Proverbs 16:25. It doesn't take into account that people change. After a person has gone through therapy, probation and time served it still never ends. That is evil. How can God move fully in the Church if the Church does nothing against this kind of evil? Micah 6:8 states we are to DO justly, Love Mercy and walk humbly with our God, All three points require action. God's anointing is faithful to follow such action. TRUTH

I was in Pennsylvania a few years ago on a business trip, it was night, raining, dark (the highwaysRead More are poorly lit where I was), I accidentally ended up on a toll road, had no idea where it was going, when the next exit would be, what it cost or anything. Thank God there was a manned tollbooth that I could pay cash and even asked some guidance. I was out of town with no internet for a week, I wouldn't have been able to accommodate similar idiotic rules. I hope the spokeshole for the TCA is reading the comments.
jerry collamer May 8, 2014 at 09:56 am
TCA's 'no toll booths issue,' on what GPS indicates correctly as State Hwys (73,241,133,261 /Read More 51-miles of OC toll roads), in SoCal's heaviest traveled summer tourist region, with visitors in rental cars, from all over the world, often not English speaking, lost and confused on SoCal freeways in the best of times, will never know they're on a toll road. Curious how TCA has that worked out with Hertz, Avis, Enterprise, etc, etc? Will the rental customer receive a note in their home mail - "You owe an additional $100 Late Toll Road Fee?"
Ken Goldenberg May 17, 2014 at 02:49 pm
A poorly run organization: Every other toll system in the country that uses a cashless system diesRead More not expect someone to go online within 2 days to pay a toll! As in Texas, they send you a hill and you have 30 days to pay it ( yes they add $1.75 to the bill to cover their mailing). Our toll roads do this for 2 reasons - they are to lazy to send a bill out, and this will generate more money. They want you to miss paying, why else would they set it up this way? Think about it-- if you miss paying they mail out a fine- right ? So why don't they just mail out a payment notice to begin with? I actually met and did an interview with Lisa as well as the idiot CEO ( such an idiot he was fired one week later), and I grilled them on this very thing. They had no real answer other then "we'll have plenty of signs" -- Really? So someone totally unfamiliar with our toll roads and perhaps on a vacation, their going to read the web site on those signs, while moving at May 30 miles an our, and then..while on their family vacation, stop everything and get online to pay a bill!!! And what if they can't get online? Get real! Now maybe the OC Supervisors will get some stones and go after this racket!

"It's attitudes like yours that result in totalitarian governments." Attitudes like mineRead More have nothing to do with totalitarian governments. You think that all the people in countries with totalitarian governments just happen to have people with attitudes like mine AND countries with non totalitarian governments just happen to be filled with people who have attitudes like OldTimer? Wouldn't that be quite a coincidence? My attitude (or your attitude) affects the weather more than it does the government. For every OldTimer protesting out there in the late 1960s and early 1970s, there were 69 thousand Andys not protesting (even though all 69 thousand of them may have agreed with the protest). Protesting is great for news channels. If I had been of draft age then, I wouldn't have protested either. Why? Same reasons I have been mentioning. It wouldn't have done much good. Instead maybe I could have possibly positioned myself not to get drafted or I could have accepted the risk of being drafted or perhaps other things. Protesting would be the least beneficial way to spend my time. The point is, even if I agree with the protest, it's not worth my time to join in. And the opposite is true, I don't feel like standing during the national anthem at sporting events. What good does it do. I wish the song wasn't even played. It's got nothing to do with the sporting event.
OldTimer April 26, 2014 at 08:36 pm
Andy, again - you make no sense. You claim that had you been of draft age and protested the VietnamRead More war it wouldn't have done much good. Yet the protests were the catalysts that actually stopped the war and brought our boys home. And that is indisputable. So the protests worked - contrary to the entire premise of your argument. And you failed to respond to my comment that citizen dissent was responsible for the birth of our nation. If the colonists took YOUR advise we would all be speaking with british accents today, Andy. So were their efforts successful or should they have taken YOUR attitude, ie "Life is too short to fight the world". So just admit it, Andy. There is a major flaw in your argument.

Let's not forget the "summer blend" that we are forced to purchase. This does nothing butRead More increase the gas prices, as this article states, the ethanol for the summer blend was a factor of the increase. There's no proven need for this more expensive blend they roll out when more gas is being consumed.
OldTimer April 18, 2014 at 11:54 am
Megan, the average price of gas NATIONALLY has skyrocketed over the last 10 years. Review the priceRead More charts. All public information. The California electeds love higher gas prices because the State collects the tax based on the PERCENT of the standing price per gallon. The higher the price the more you pay the governor. So they will use any old excuse to make you pay more. I expect gas to hit $5 a gallon this summer, even with the claim that we (the US) is producing more oil than ever. Supply and demand???? Sure. Pull my other thumb!!!
