What a treasure Lake Forest has in Heritage Hill Historical Park. I have been a member of theRead More Amigos de la Colina docent group since 1987 (although I now live in Washington State) and I want to thank Patch for showing such a wonderful video of Rancho Days Fiesta. It made me so proud, homesick, and glad that I'm coming back in a few more weeks for a vacation -- and a trip to Heritage Hill.

Sorry- I'd rather see The Stone Roses at Coachella!

They do have a wide selection of Mexican candy at Diego's, as a commenter mentioned. But I had toRead More delete the comment because of a curse word. Keep it clean folks! :-)

I grew up at this store! Love you pops. A Better Life is one of the best movies I've ever seen, rentRead More it!

I'd say Lake Forest residents are intelligent and have good taste

Also be sure to check out Ocean Awareness Day on Sunday! It's right next to the sand castles too!

Those "free rail and bus connections" are not truly free. They are subsidized by theRead More taxpayers.

Wow. Given the negative comments on this site, it's easy to understand why Orange County is knownRead More primarily as the home of angry old white people!
OC Mom March 8, 2013 at 02:09 pm
@ Larry, I think you're confusinig Orange County as a whole with Laguna Woods. I think there are aRead More whole range of races who are upset at wasteful government spending and museum displays that are in poor taste. The fact that you think only older white folks would be offended by this speaks volumes. Conservatives and Christians come in every color.
fact checker March 8, 2013 at 02:14 pm
Are you saying that all Christians are conservative and share your aesthetics? Perhaps in yourRead More circle but that sort of makes Larry's point. There is more diversity in Laguna Woods than, say, south county by the way.

I agree... Thursday or Friday would have been better to learn this info especially when we areRead More looking for things to do inside due to rain.
MayMom January 27, 2013 at 04:08 pm
I agree.
Rossmoor Resident January 27, 2013 at 08:34 pm
I agree with the other commenters that this story is not very timely. On the otherhand, I didn'tRead More see anything about it in the LA Times, and what did the museums themselves do to publicize this? That said, how come some Patch readers receive their copies hours before others? Jenny & Mark received their copies in time to post comments at 7 am; my copy didn't arrive until 12:08 pm, which is typical for me.
Linda Friedman January 23, 2013 at 05:34 pm
Mia Bloom's art, whether in fiber or paint or mixed media, has universal appeal through aRead More consistently demonstrated refined sense of color, texture, line and design. Her minimal approach speaks to the essence of her subject and transcends the ebb and flow of what may be considered fashion at any given time.

Though I am a 3rd generation native of southern California, much of what I know about my homestate IRead More learned from Huell Howser. He has been a regular "visitor" in our home and taken us on many wonderful chairside trips. Huell inspired us to see what is truly in our own backyard. He will be greatly missed - let's hope PSB will continue to show the reruns as a reminder of this wonderful man who became an icon of the Golden State. To his family and friends I pray for your peace and comfort in the memories of this dear man.

He was such a brave man knowing what he was going thru keeping it to himself. He didn't ask forRead More sympathy but, received attributes for what he give us....knowledge. He was such a likeable man and he lived his life loving it. Vaya Con Dios Amigo.

I thought we were people first, religious, political, and ethnic backrounds aren't supposed toRead More matter. But I forgot we are dealing with the Hollywood Liberals, who are the most divisive, hypocritical, and ridiculous group of nincompoops out there.
MFriedrich January 15, 2013 at 06:11 pm
Dick Cheney. Hands down.
Robert Butchers January 15, 2013 at 08:47 pm
Really, Nincompoops? Now I thought that adults, informed mature people, were certainly above nameRead More calling. How about just changing the channel. That doesn't take very much effort or maturity.
JustUs January 14, 2013 at 06:50 pm
And then they can't understand why afterwards people run out onto the streets and shoot one another.Read More And when they do they don't blame screen violence or mental illness. Then Obama blames guns as his lieutenants ship 2500 assault rifles across the mexican border to the drug lords and their soldiers to have their way with the innocents. Sceen violence will never get mentioned by the POTUS or his cronies in Congress. The contributions from Hollywood are just too darned good. Why do you think King Obama made 4 trips to Hollywood during his presidential campaign and disrupted traffic for millions of commuters? To shake hands with those liberal Hollywood slime who call for gun control while they show graphic murders on screen to all the peasants??? HAH!!! Come on, folks. Open up your eyes. My God, the truth is laughing at you!!! :^)

'And "I've been through the desert on a horse with no name" has been variouslyRead More misconstrued as "a horse named Jose" ' I blame Richard Harris. Paige Austin (Editor) December 16, 2012 at 08:39 pm
I like the Port Theater, too. I recently tried the luxury theater in Laguna NiguelRead More -Cinépolis- it was awesome, you kick back in a luxury recliner and press a button to have a server bring you munchies or cocktails.
