"So why are divorced people allowed to be leaders?" Because they care more about leadingRead More than they do about their marriage. Just ask Newt, and he'll tell you that is exactly why he was a serial adulterer. So busy he was being patriotic that he had no time to be a husband. Besides, Jesus has forgiven him, so there's that.

" No one was around to really say what he thought and said." Then no one can say that heRead More even exists. "It is all how you interpret it." Yes, everyone can make up what no one heard or thought said.

Shripathi: you bring up an excellent point: Jesus never said anythiNg negative aboutRead More homosexuality, but he had plenty to say about adultery. So why are divorced people allowed to be leaders? Seems to be that if people were really against what Jesus spoke against they would be all into making divorce and adultery illegal and banned from the scouts. If the fundamentalists were really all that "Bible fearing," they would show up everywhere with signs protesting divorce and adultery instead of abortion and gay marriage... Oh but wait; that wouldn't fit in with what THEY want..... Hmmmmmmm

What's ironic is many of the South County families donating supplies for underprivileged familiesRead More actually have a lower net worth than the underprivileged families. Many of these donors are so far underwater (due to negative real estate equity) that they have a hugely negative net worth while the recipients of the supplies, perhaps renting, or just getting by, have a near zero net worth.

The proliferation of hate crime laws in the 1980’s and 1990’s was a feel goodRead More politically correct approach by legislatures who added an extra element that had to be proven in a criminal court to obtain a conviction. Their reason for doing so is difficult to determine, probably to show their constituents they were doing something, who knows? All I can say is that they have never been prosecutors. Hates crimes are unique because it asks the police and the D.A. to prove in court “THE MOTIVE FOR THE CRIME” Normally, the motive for a crime has always been irrelevant in proving a criminal violation. It adds an extra element of a crime that must be proven in a court of law to get a criminal conviction. In most of these cases the element of motive must be proven by circumstantial evidence, since the criminal involved seldom confesses as to his motive for committing a crime. Thus, it burdens both the police and the prosecutor to prove the element of motive, when in most cases the person could be convicted of assault, battery etc. without having to prove this element. Accordingly, adding hate crimes to the California statutes was a waste of valuable investigative and prosecutorial time, when it’s really not needed and adds a burden for the prosecution and law enforcement. Given that noted above, tracking such crimes is an absolute waste of tax payer’s money and squanders limited resources to prosecute criminals.

One less bureaucracy in our midst! The problem with such non-profs is that they are selective asRead More what "hate crimes" they pursue. The police are doing a fine job enforcing the law.

Here is where the countries money goes. Let's set some of this aside for the poor and improvisedRead More The Secret Service issued new rules of conduct for their agents on Friday. They can no longer get drunk, procure hookers or go to strip bars. The rules say that from now on, if agents feel compelled to engage in such behavior, they can run for public office like everyone else.. I think that is fair! What do you think??

Any comment on this??? Green Bay - If your name has finally come up on the waiting list for GreenRead More Bay Packers season tickets, they will cost more this year. Lambeau Field's landlord, the Stadium District Board, has raised the seat license fee for new ticket holders. The "green" package of seven games goes up $700 to $2,100. The "gold," or three-game, package will go up $300 to $900.

Want a job?? Even as hundreds of thousands of California workers are struggling to find a job,Read More Congress has continued to issue 125,000 new work visas a month to immigrants and other foreign workers. This equals 1.5 million new foreign workers each year, who compete directly with California residents for a very limited number of California's jobs. Who benefits from allowing 1.5 million new foreign workers into the U.S. each year? Certainly not the 2,019,000 residents of California who are currently unemployed. Unfortunately, Sens. Feinstein and Boxer have done nothing to reduce the number of foreign workers to the U.S. And as a result, unemployed California workers continue to suffer. VOTE OUT THE PEOPLE THAT DO NOT HELP OC'S IMPOVERISHED POOR.
