Bullied Lake Forest Teen Garners Lady Gaga's Support

A Lake Forest teen's anti-bullying YouTube video is getting attention from celebrities who are acknowledging the 14-year-old's struggles with words of hope and support.

The video by Jonah Mowry, in which he uses a series of flashcards to share that he is gay and detail the bullying he's gone through at school, has gotten more than 7.5 million hits.

Pop star Lady Gaga chimed in today on Twitter, posting "Please everyone, take a moment to watch this. This is why I work so hard, this is why its wrong to hate," along with a link to the video.

"Thank you Jonah for being brave enough to share your story + showing us strength. You matter to millions," she tweeted.

Since Mowry's video went viral this month, he's appeared on "Good Morning America" to talk about school bullying and what he experienced at school.

Since posting the video in August, Mowry has posted a follow-up note to the video, saying that he has since made more friends and become happy and confident in his identity.

He also thanked his supporters—both celebrity and non—for their "overwhelming" support.

"I never expected in a million years that [the video] would have such a wonderful impact on so many people," Mowry wrote. "I am truly humbled and truly thankful for all the love, encouragement and support from people all over the world."
