241 Extension Hits Roadblock

The Water Quality board rejected a permit that would have allowed a nearly 6 mile expansion to the 241 toll road, a project that environmentalists oppose for fear that it would pave the way for a larger extension into sensitive coastal habitat.

Pastors typically have a 12-year term and a newly ordained priest's first assignment is for 4 years.Read More Both Father Dave Gruber and Father Anthony Vu have completed their terms and were transferred to other parishes as a result. This occurs every June in our Diocese.

I didn't ask the politicians. I asked the city staffers. They say the downgrade in revenueRead More expectations is based on this year's tax flow. So IF the shutdown of SONGS has an impact, it will mean further reductions in the hotel tax (transient occupancy tax for you bureaucrats, ha!)
Shripathi Kamath June 19, 2013 at 06:28 pm
"They say the downgrade in revenue expectations is based on this year's tax flow." That'sRead More like saying that the car might require gas because the fuel indicator is empty, when asked whether lack of periodic maintenance has caused your car to guzzle more gas. Of course if they expect lower tax flow, there will be lower revenues. Is the lower tax flow *based* on San Onofre closing is what I thought you were going to ask. (Was waiting with bated breath to hear a yes or a no because that would indicate one of the most efficient and speedy economic analysis ever, seeing that we only heard about the closure, what five days ago?)

I have some thought on this issue of the Homelessness. I as a soldier required of the soldiersRead More under me to bring ideas with them with their problems. Here's some. The homeless problem can be a solution in a way if we look on how we can tap into this resource. First we must see the homeless as a resource/opportunity. Many have a certain mindset while others just need opportunity. Partner up with One Stop centers while providing housing the city can use help by those that are getting free housing as well. They can clean our parks and other areas within the city as well. All that land that has old military housing can be fixed up and used in creative ways. For those that have mental problem Supervisor Moorlach told me the state is working on funding help for those with mental issues. Lake Forest can get ahead of that by have systems in place and use those added fund to help those with mental problems.

Thanks for the comment. If you're free you might want to come to the City and offer the comment, orRead More otherwise submit it in writing to the Council. You can do it by going online to the city's website. FWIW I agree with you. It's better to see something as an opportunity/resource.

Are you REALLY complaining about not having enough snacks at meetings? As a mother of four childrenRead More who works 60 hours a week to support my family along with my hard working husband, especially since one of my children was adopted at age 6 from a third world country where she was completely malnourished i cannot believe you are bring serious. There is nothing stopping you from bringing your owm snacks and sippy cup to all of the meetings you troll, i mean attend. I mean, it's better than all of the time you spend slandering my father who can no longer defend himself since he is in his final days fighting an inoperable brain tumor, but WOW your bitterness at having never won one of the elections you have run in for the city is just getting ridiculous.

I believe it is time we had representation that understands what it means to serve. Because, afterRead More all, isn't a House Member's job to serve the people of his/her district? And who understands service better than a former Marine Corps Colonel? I briefly met Colonel Raths yesterday and it is my belief that he is doing this for all the right reasons and will provide what has been missing in Congress for far too long---INTEGRITY, HONESTY, PATRIOTISM, SELFLESSNESS & SERVICE. And if I heard correctly, yesterday, he has already hired the best possible company, a company with an extremely innovative and intelligent leader, to run his campaign. This company will serve him well and when the facts come about about Greg Raths, the people of the 45th District will have the easiest choice at the polls in quite some time. This is the man who will do the right thing for his district 10 times out of 10. Go Greg! When you find out the amazingly wonderful things he has done for his country, there really is no choice. Colonel Greg Raths USMC Retired for Congress, 2014.
