Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair to Speak with Rick Warren at Saddleback Church

The leader will be in Lake Forest on March 6.

Tony Blair, the former prime minister of Britain, will visit Lake Forest March 6 to speak on stage with Pastor Rick Warren for Civil Forum, reports the Christian Post.

Blair, 57, served as head of state for the United Kingdom from May 1997 to June 2007, representing the Labour Party. His time in office saw the completion of the Northern Ireland peace process and strong British support for the U.S.-led 2003 invasion of Iraq. Since 2007, he has represented the U.S., United Nations, European Union and Russia as the official envoy for the Middle East peace process.

, Warren spoke with former U.S. president George W. Bush for the Civil Forum, following the release of Bush's memoir, Decision Points.

"We're going to take five letters of the Global PEACE Plan and the five global giants and talk about spiritual emptiness, corrupt leadership, extreme poverty, pandemic diseases, and illiteracy and education. These are the five problems the PEACE Plan is designed to [address]," Warren told his congregation, according to the Christian Post.

Blair's memoir, A Journey: My Political Life, was released in September 2010.

Tickets for the Bush event were available free of charge.

Saddleback spokeswoman Kristin Cole confirmed to Patch that Blair had been booked for March 6, but said that details for the event were still being finalized.
