New Church Offers Free Children's Art Classes

The Connection Church, which opened in Lake Forest in August, is holding a series of classes for children.

A new area church is holding free weekly art classes for children, taught by members of the congregation with art experience.

The Connection Church, which opened its doors at 22471 Aspan St. in August, is holding the classes as a community service for local residents.

Children are invited to attend the classes from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. Wednesdays from Oct. 12 through Nov. 16.

Each week, participants will make a creative project to take home, such as a Thanksgiving dinnertable centerpiece, said the Rev. Kim Robinson, children's pastor at The Connection Church.

Robinson said that the church plans to offer additional series of free classes for children in the future.
