Rock Bands, Hip-Hop Artists Performing Friday at Etnies Skatepark

Live music and a skate contest are lined up for Friday night at Lake Forest's recently expanded skate park.

Visitors to will get the chance to hear live rock music from Southern California bands as well as skate the park's new features this Friday.

On Friday, the music kicks off at 6 p.m.

Mission Viejo surf rockers Aloha Radio, Dana Point pop punk performers the Mainline, and Los Angeles punk rockers the Scrid Hunters are set to perform.

Also scheduled to perform is Dana Point hip-hop artist Italix and Low Down Poets, also hip-hop.

During a break in performances, there will be a skate board trick competition. The event wraps up at 10 p.m.

Attendance at the park has boomed since it .

Experienced skaters from out of town as well as from Lake Forest have come by, eager to try the recently revealed obstacles.

This Wednesday, Southern California native pro skateboarder Ryan Sheckler stopped by the park's skate camp.

The concert is being presented by RESiN MAG, an online magazine that features "underground talent," such as artists and athletes. 

Entry to the Friday night concert is $5.

The skate park is at 20028 Lake Forest Dr.
