The Parade Committee kicked off the new year with one new member and a brief visit from the Mayor. This year’s theme is “Life Liberty Lake Forest” but the main theme of the night was the need for people to step up and make this year’s parade the best yet.

Aspiring graphic artists have until March 1 to submit their design for the parade logo that adorns shirts and flyers. In the past 5 years we have had 3 different winners, so the field is open.

PARADE ENTRIES
Any group or even any person can participate and there is no fee. Normally we have about 100 entries. Why not consider entering the Parade this year. To make it easier, online registration should be ready by March 3.
BTW we are especially interested in anything that makes noise (e.g., Marching Bands)
PROGRAM DISTRIBUTION
On the day of the Parade we need extra people to help distribute flyers. This is a great project for a Boys or Girls Scout group, or for a High School class.
VOLUNTEERS
It takes about 50 people to put on the Parade. We have subcommittees that you can get involved in. Here’s some examples –
5K Race
Pancake Breakfast
Judges
PR/Marketing
Parade Committee Float
Assembly Captains
COME BY
Come by at the next meeting and say hello. Chances are you already know someone who is on the Committee. Here’s the schedule for the next few meetings. All meetings are on the first Monday of the month and start at 6 pm in the Council room at the City Hall. There’s always some good food. This week Jersey Mike’s helped feed the troops.
