Deadline to Apply for Senior Advisory Board Is Thursday

Five residents will be selected for a new advisory board that will lend insight on senior-specific issues in Lake Forest.

Thursday is the last day for seniors to apply to be on a new advisory board that will offer recommendations on senior programs and activities run by the city.

Residents of Lake Forest age 50 and older are invited to submit applications for the Senior Advisory Board.

The five-member group will be appointed by the city's Parks and Recreation Commission and advise the commission with regard to senior-specific issues.

In 2013, the new board is scheduled to meet quarterly at 10 a.m. on the following Wednesdays: Jan. 9, April 10, July 10, and Oct. 9.

In addition to attending quarterly meetings, Senior Advisory Board members are expected to attend some Parks and Recreation Commission meetings. That commission meets the third Thursday of each month.

Applications are available at the Senior Scene Clubhouse at Lake Forest City Hall, 25550 Commercentre Dr., and online at lakeforestca.gov/seniors.

Parks and Recreation commissioners will interview candidates at 7 p.m. Nov. 15 at City Hall, 25550 Commercentre Dr.
