Gusty Winds Usher In the Weekend

A high wind watch is in effect Friday evening through Saturday afternoon in Lake Forest.

Hold on to your hats. Weather meteorologists predict that winds could gust as high as 55 mph Friday evening in Lake Forest.

From 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, the region is under a wind advisory.

Daytime should be sunny, with a high near 79 degrees and a northeast wind blowing at around 15 mph. Gusts could hit 30 mph.

As the night approaches, the wind will strengthen to 25 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 55 mph. 

Then, a high wind watch will go into effect from Friday evening through Saturday afternoon.

The winds will peak Saturday morning, according to the weather service. 

In Lake Forest, winds are forecast to be blowing from 20 to 25 mph, eventually weakening to 10 to 15 mph, though gusts of up to 45 mph are possible during the day.

An east wind will breeze through town Saturday night, between 10 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 20 mph, according to the weather service.

Sunday will be calm, sunny and clear, with temperatures nearing the 80s.
