Victim ID'ed in Fatal El Toro Road Crash

A 52-year-old Lake Forest banker died in Tuesday's three-vehicle collision.

The woman who died in was identified Wednesday as Joy Kelly, 52, of Lake Forest, authorities said.

According to deputies, Kelly was driving a Mercedes SUV the wrong way on El Toro Road—heading east on a westbound lane—when she hit a semi-truck head-on. The truck then struck a white Toyota SUV.

The driver of the truck, a man in his 50s, was taken to Mission Hospital's trauma center with unknown injuries. The Toyota driver, a woman in her 50s, suffered minor injuries.

An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.

Kelly was a 30-year banking industry veteran, according to a 2010 Movers & Shakers entry in OC Metro. She had most recently been promoted to senior vice president with Sunwest Bank, according to the post.
