Drunken Man Nixes Taxi, Opts for Bike Ride Home, and Other Cop Calls

A selection of calls from Lake Forest to the county Sheriff's Department from Aug. 12-16.

The calls represent what was told to a sheriff's deputy in the field by the radio dispatcher. The true nature of an incident often differs from what is initially reported. No presumption of criminal guilt or affiliation should be drawn from the information provided.

It was an unsteady ride home for a drunken man who decided to bicycle back from a bar near the 23300 block of El Toro Road at about 2 a.m Sunday after he was asked to leave.

The man in his mid-20s, who was reportedly causing a disturbance at the bar, was asked to leave in a taxi. Instead, bar patrons reported, he took off on a bicycle.
