Gang Member Arrested for Home Invasion Robbery

Long Beach man tied up his Lake Forest victim before allegedly robbing him.

A 32-year-old man was charged Monday with a home invasion robbery in Lake Forest.

The robbery took place in August, and the Orange County District Attorney believes Vannak San, 32, of Long Beach is responsible.

San was arrested Friday night by the Orange County Sheriff's Department and booked on suspicion of a home invasion robbery that took place on August 21, in which the victim was tied up, according Lt. Jeff Hallock, spokesman for the OCSD.

San is accused of entering the residence in the 21000 block of Canterbury in Lake Forest and tying up a 26-year-old male resident before taking several items, including jewelry, a computer tablet and personal papers.

After the robber left, the victim managed to free himself loose and call authorities.

Investigators were led to San by a fingerprint he left behind, Hallock said. San is a career criminal with ties to a criminal street gang in Long Beach, according to the OCSD.

San is charged with first-degree robbery, burglary and criminal threats, Hallock said.
